At ACTUAL, we understand architecture as a discipline capable of improving people’s lives and transforming spaces into livable, sustainable environments with their own identity. Our goal is to create projects that not only meet the needs of each client but also add value to their surroundings and to the city.

Origin and background

The architecture department was founded in 2002 by Mauro Conti (Losone, Switzerland, 1965; trained in Computer Science and Architecture at ETH Zürich and in Architecture at UPC ETSAB in Barcelona) and Joaquim Mestre (Barcelona, Spain, 1962; trained in Architecture at UPC ETSAB in Barcelona).

After collaborating with renowned architecture firms in Spain and abroad, they decided to join forces and contribute their experience to the structure of the real estate company ACTUAL, consolidating a department capable of tackling projects of great diversity and complexity.

What we do

We develop architectural projects across different scales and typologies, offering tailored and creative solutions:

  • Single-family homes and interior renovation projects.

  • Residential, commercial, and service buildings.

  • Urban and territorial planning, participating in large-scale developments.

  • Projects for private clients and public institutions.

Work philosophy

Our approach to architecture is functional, contemporary, and sensitive to its context. We devote the same attention to designing a custom-made piece of furniture for an apartment in Barcelona as to defining the height of a skyscraper within the master plan of a city in Russia.

The experience gained over the years —even if glasses and gray hair reveal it— has not diminished our curiosity or enthusiasm. On the contrary: every project is a new challenge, an opportunity to learn, and a constant source of inspiration.

Our commitment

  • Technical and creative excellence at every stage of the project.

  • Personalized and close attention to each client.

  • International vision, backed by experience in diverse cultural and urban contexts.

  • Innovation and sustainability, always thinking about the future of people and cities.
